The building of my new Botanical Art studio begins!...

As i have now officially announced on social media about the launch of my very own botanical art studio i thought i would begin to share with you the progress of the building so far!

I've wanted to do this for such a long time but it has taken years of saving up and a big fat loan to get to this stage! As you can see there is a lot of work required to get the studio and courtyard garden up and running. I have chosen a fantastic local company to do both the ground works and build the conservatory style studio that will overlook my courtyard that will be full of flowers and has a growing area for fruit & vegetables.

In the studio and in the courtyard i will run art workshops and classes focusing on a botanical theme including flower pressing, abstract florals, watercolour florals, paper flower making and many more. I will also be hosting botanical study groups and seed planting sessions for adults and children. My aim is to create a place for locals and tourists who enjoy gardening, flowers and art to come together.

As you may know my young son Finley (age 6) is a keen botanical photographer so we will also be exhibiting his work here too, we have prints of his floral photos on our website in card & print form.

I don't have a date yet for completion but i very much hope for it to be ready mid August summer holidays.

If you would like to get involved, showcase your botanical art once the studio opens or have any advice / suggestions please do get in touch in the comments or via email to kabriggs@hotmail.co.uk
