Clay printing with leaves & flowers : Botanical Studio Seaton

One of the many things i love about having my new art studio is that no matter the weather i can feel like i'm outside. On a rainy day (the first one for a long time as it has been extremely hot here recently) i decided to sit out in the studio and work on a new idea i had for a workshop - clay printing with leaves & flowers.

Though i was safely inside in my nice warm studio i could see and hear the rain fall, it was beautiful to watch it falling in the garden giving my plants a well needed drink. The lovely big windows & clear glass roof i had plenty of natural light to work in too.

I really enjoyed this activity, something completely different to what i normally do but it was great fun experimenting with different flowers & leaves learning which worked better. Once they were dry i thought i would try adding some colour to some of them to see what effect it gave, i was really pleased with the finish, i think they would make great bag charms, tags for presents or event just decorations.

I'm definitely going to be running workshops in this activity soon, if you'd like to find out more about the workshops i have planned be sure to stay tuned here on my blog & over on my facebook page.
