I enjoyed a day of working with pen and ink today over the top of old watercolour & infusion backgrounds.
I've learnt never to throw out watercolour projects that I'm not 100% happy with, instead I try to re-use them as backgrounds by adding pen and ink over the top.
This piece I was particularly pleased with, I'm not sure why it could be it's simplicity and bright colours.
It is really important to use good quality black ink pens when working on top of watercolour paint and also to ensure that the paper is fully dry otherwise the pen can bleed or tear the paper.
